This week I am going to be giving a short introduction to the other side of my nature – Avalon.
As The Avalon Faery it is only right that I talk to you about this most interesting of places. This will be a brief introduction talking about what Avalon is, my connection with it, and what it could mean to you.

Avalon – What is it?
Avalon is the mystical Isle shrouded in fog that is the current home of the Lady of the Lake, one of the homes of Faery, and rumoured to be the resting place of King Arthur.
It is a place that can be reached from our world yet sits in the “otherworld”. Only those the Isle allows to pass through the fog will be able to reach it. The magic of Avalon keeps out those unworthy of her secrets.
Lore has it that Morgen (more familiarly known as Morgan le Fey) and her eight sisters live here as the Priestesses of Avalon. Their magic allows the Isle to be entirely self-sustaining, without need for farming or cultivation of any kind, save that carried out by Mother Nature herself.
There are many different sources of information and stories about Avalon regarding all aspects of its nature, origins, and denizens. From Le Morte d’Arthur to the numerous articles one can find by searching Avalon in any search engine.
I will be delving deeper into the folklore and myths surrounding individual aspects of Avalon in future articles, along with my personal experiences and opinions of those aspects. For now however, I will give an overview of my feeling of connection, what it means for me, and what it could mean for you…
Avalon – My Connection…
I have always felt a strong connection to Avalon and the magic of that realm. Since I was very young any stories of Avalon, Camelot, King Arthur, Morgen, etc. captivated me and made me feel “at home”.
My connection to Faery naturally assists in linking me to Avalon. Many of the denizens of Avalon are also Faery, and the two realms are interconnected.
I know that I have lived lives in Avalon as both Faery and human. This has been confirmed for me by my human Faery friend and Tarot guide as well as by my Faery family and Avalon friends themselves. A piece of my heart and soul resides there still!
Re-Connecting
When I reconnected with Avalon the fogs parted for me and I went through an initiation.
This involved my being “inspected” to ensure that I was ready to accept the information and magical knowledge that was waiting for me.
I was visited by a white Dragon and a female referring to herself as The Mother. We visited together, talked, and I was presented with my initial gifts to begin the work involved in my new Journey. The Mother will visit with me once more when I am ready for my next gifts.
How Avalon helps me
Whenever I need to I can call on the energies of Avalon and through meditation I can converse with those who reside there. I visit the shores quite often when I am in need of a recharge.
They provide me with messages and guidance that help me to deal with the human condition, separation from my Faery self, and connection to my magic.
Avalon – And You…
As a magical node point Avalon sits where we cannot see with our human eyes. Though it is always there – linked heavily to the planet we humans call home.
Avalon is a waypoint to connect with not only Faery, and the natural magic of this Mother Earth, but also the vast natural magic of Unity/Creator/God (or whatever name you wish to utilise).
Right now people all over the world are feeling the call and pull of Avalon. Whether they recognise it or not they are tapping into the natural magic that has always been here.
Many cultures have myths about a great hero that is slumbering and will awaken when needed most. The magic people are feeling is a part of this process of awakening.
King Arthur may, or may not, ride again through the moors and fields of Britain helping to free the people from tyrannical oppressors (or whichever equivalent being over the terrain associated with their cultures land).
The magic though will help set you free if you will let it.
We all need help from time to time and that is what the denizens of Avalon, and Avalon itself, are here to do. Once you connect to the magic you can ask for help from this realm and Avalon will provide if you are ready.
Connecting
You can connect with Avalon, and the inhabitants there, in the same way that you connect with any of your guides / spirit family / higher self / etc.
Using tools such as grounding, meditation, prayer (whatever feels right to you) guide your intention towards speaking with Avalon.
It may take a while for you to fully form your connection. Just as we have discussed regarding Faery you will need to build a bond of trust and prove you are worthy of the knowledge to be gained.
Remember others before you, including King Arthur and his knights themselves, were expected to pass trials to prove themselves worthy.
The connection is definitely worth the effort though as it is one of pure joy, magic, and love!
Moving into the Future…
Once your connection is made you will be guided in whatever you choose. The magic may have a task (or quest if you want to feel like a knight of old 😉) for you but it is your choice if you choose to accept it or not.
Avalon is exerting a deeper and deeper force on the realm we reside in. It is preparing people to become the new protectors and leaders of humanity in its most worthy form.
Your way ahead will not necessarily be easy but it will be something worthy, something you can take natural pride in, something of value to all those around you.
